Bondura Technology AS wanted to measure the pressure their patented expansion bolts exerted at different levels of torque on the mounting bolts.
We were sent a series of test sleeves, all specifically designed for the different Bondura bolt sizes, and mounted strain gauges on these. The strain gauges were mounted in hoop direction on the outside of each sleeve.
Since we also had the material certificates and measurements of the test sleeves, we could calculate the amount of force exerted by the bolt towards the test sleeve, by measuring the hoop strain.
We conducted a series of tests, with different bolts and different torque. A representative from Bondura Technology was there to ensure correct installation and torque on the mounting bolt, as well as an observer during the testing.
